TeamSpaces support
Contact: support@vegha.ai. We aim to reply within two business days.
When you get in touch, include the app version (App Catalog → TeamSpaces → App version, or Organization settings → Extensions in Azure DevOps), the browser, and what you expected to happen versus what happened. Screenshots help.
Install
- A SharePoint administrator adds TeamSpaces to the tenant App Catalog from the marketplace (or uploads
team-spaces.sppkg), and chooses whether to make it available to all sites. - On any site, edit a page, add the TeamSpaces web part (we recommend a full-width section) and publish the page.
- The first time, a site owner (anyone with Manage lists on the site) clicks Set up wiki storage. It creates two libraries and two lists on that site, or reuses ones you pick. No scripts or app registrations are needed.
Common questions
“Wiki storage is not set up”. A site owner needs to open the page once and click Set up wiki storage. Visitors and members see a message asking them to contact an owner.
Someone else is editing a page. Pages are locked while someone edits them. A lock expires after 24 hours, and site owners can break it sooner from the page.
Where is my content? In the libraries and lists on the same site, named WikiStore, WikiDrafts, WikiIndex and WikiComments by default (the names are in the web part properties). Pages are Markdown files you can open, download or restore from version history like any other file.
Importing existing documentation. Use Create → Import pages… and pick a folder of Markdown files. The import shows a preview before anything is written, and it can be run again safely.
Removing the app. Remove it from the App Catalog. Your libraries and lists, and their content, are kept.
Azure DevOps
Install. An organisation administrator installs Team Spaces from the Visual Studio Marketplace and approves its permissions. It then appears in each project’s navigation as Team Spaces.
Create a space. Project members with permission to create repositories can create a space. Each space is a Git repository in the project, with its pages shown as a code wiki. An existing repository arranged as a wiki can be added as a space too.
“You can’t read this space’s pages”. Your access level is probably Stakeholder, which doesn’t include Azure Repos. Ask an organisation administrator to change it to Basic, or a project administrator to give you Read permission on the space’s repository (Contribute, to edit pages).
Someone else is editing a page. Everyone edits their own draft; pages aren’t locked. If someone publishes while you edit, you’re told when you publish, and can compare and choose what to keep.
Linking work items. Type # and a number or title in a page to link a work item. The page shows in the
work item’s Links tab, like any wiki page.
